Scanning With the Multi Photo Feeder

Start EPSON Scan by one of the following methods:

Once EPSON Scan starts, choose the scanning mode from the list box at the top right of the window. For details, see Changing the Scan Mode.

Select the Document Type and Image Type settings as follows:
|
Original
|
Document Type setting
|
Image Type setting
|
Photo
|
Photograph
|
Color or Black&White
|
Business Card
|
Text/Line Art
|
Color, Black&White, or Grayscale
|
|
Click the button for the way you plan to use the scanned images in the Destination box:

If you selected Screen/Web or Printer as the Destination setting, the Resolution setting is already selected for you. If you selected Other, click the arrow next to the Resolution list and select the number of dots per inch at which you want to scan. For guidelines, see Selecting the Scan Resolution.

Click Scan. All photos or business cards in the input tray are scanned automatically.

Preview is not available in Full Auto Mode or Home Mode. To preview each photo or business card one by one, scan using Professional Mode. See Scanning in Professional Mode for instructions.

Scanning in Professional Mode
|
Make sure that MPF is selected as the Document Source.
|
|
Select the Auto Exposure Type and Image Type settings as follows:

Original
|
Auto Exposure Type setting
|
Image Type setting
|
Photo
|
Photo
|
24-bit Color, 48-bit Color, 8-bit Grayscale, or 16-bit Grayscale
|
Business Card
|
Document
|
Any, depending on card style. See step 2 in Selecting Basic Settings for details.

Click Preview. The Preview window appears.

After previewing a photo or business card loaded in the Multi Photo Feeder, if you do not scan within 15 minutes, the photo or card is ejected automatically and the scanner enters sleep mode. Load the ejected photos or cards into the Multi Photo Feeder and click Preview again to scan them.

Draw a marquee (a frame around the scan area) by dragging the mouse pointer over the image of your photo or business card in the Preview window. For instructions, see Adjusting the Scan Area (Marquee).

Click Scan. The photo or business card is scanned and ejected to the output tray, then the next one is previewed. If you do not want to scan that one, click Preview to go to the next one.

Repeat steps 4 through 6 until all the photos or business cards in the input tray are scanned.
