Changing the Printer Connection

This section explains how to use a computer to change the printer’s connection or the network interface configuration.
Note:
Before changing the printer’s connection method, check that the network you are changing to is working normally.
If a security alert screen for your OS or the application is displayed, click Unblock. Do not click Keep Blocking, Block, or a similar command displayed by any commercially available security software you are using.
Depending on the commercially available security software you are using, the above procedure may not establish a connection. In this case, temporarily disable your security software and then use the printer’s software.
If you want to make network settings, remove the memory card from the printer before beginning setup.
If you are using EpsonNet Config, you can make detailed printer settings over the network. Depending on your printer, you can install EpsonNet Config from the software disc supplied with your printer, or you can download the software from the Epson Web site.

Using the Software Disc

You can use Install Navi and EpsonNet Setup supplied on the software disc to change the connection environment.
Note:
EpsonNet Setup does not run under an IPv6 environment.
If you do not have the software disc, you can run the install programs by using Epson Web Installer from the Epson Web site.

Changing to Wi-Fi/Ethernet from a USB connection

Note:
When changing the Wi-Fi connection, make a note of the broadband router (access point) and computer settings because you may need the SSID and security settings during setup.
When changing the network setting to Ethernet, you need an Ethernet cable.
You must use a Category-5 or higher shielded twisted-pair cable to connect the printer to an Ethernet network.
This feature is not available for all printers or may not be enabled.
Turn on the printer and make sure that your Wi-Fi or Ethernet are working normally.
Insert the software disc into the CD-ROM/DVD drive.
For Mac OS X, double-click the Install Navi icon.
Note:
If the installation screen does not automatically appear in Windows, double-click the Disk icon in Computer (or My Computer) from the Mode pop-up menu.
Read the License Agreement carefully, if you agree to the terms of the license, select the appropriate button, and then click Next.
Select Epson Drivers and Utilities and Epson Network Utilities, and then click Install.
Select the network connection method, and then click Next.
Note:
If a network interface error is displayed, your computer does not have a network interface. See the network interface troubleshooting.
