Paper or the CD/DVD Tray Does Not Feed CorrectlyPaper does not feedRemove the stack of paper and make sure of the following:
The paper is not curled or creased.
The paper is not too old. See the instructions that came with the paper for more information.
The paper fits under the arrow mark inside the edge guide.
The number of sheets in the paper stack does not exceed the limit specified for the media.

See The paper jams The ink cartridges are not expended. If a cartridge is expended, replace it.
See Replacing an Expended Ink Cartridge You have followed any special loading instructions that came with your paper. Load the paper again.
See Loading Paper Multiple pages feedMake sure the paper stack fits under the arrow mark inside the edge guide.
Make sure the edge guide is snug against the left edge of the paper.
Make sure the paper is not curled or folded. If so, flatten it or curl it slightly toward the opposite side before loading.
Remove the stack of paper and make sure that the paper is not too thin.
See Paper Fan the edges of the stack to separate the sheets, then reload the paper.
If too many copies of a file are being printed, check the Copies setting in your printer driver as follows, and also check in your application.
For Windows, check the Copies setting on the Page Layout window. For Mac OS X, check the Copies setting in the Copies & Pages setting in the Print dialog box. See the printer driver online help for details. The paper jamsIf the paper is stuck inside the printer, open the printer cover, then remove all of the paper inside, including any torn pieces. Close the printer cover. If paper remains near the sheet feeder, gently pull it out. Then carefully reload paper and press the paper button to resume printing.
Note:
If your paper jams frequently, make sure of the following:
The paper is smooth, not curled or wrinkled.
You are using high quality paper.
The printable side of the paper is face up in the sheet feeder.
The paper stack was fanned before loading.
The paper is not loaded above the arrow mark inside the edge guide.
The number of sheets in the paper stack does not exceed the limit specified for that paper.

The printer is on a flat, stable surface that extends beyond the base in all directions. The printer will not operate properly if it is tilted.
Paper is improperly loadedIf you have loaded the paper too far into the printer, the printer cannot feed the paper correctly. Turn the printer off and gently remove the paper. Then turn the printer on and reload the paper correctly.
Paper is not ejected fully or is wrinkledIf the paper does not eject fully, press the paper button. Also, check the Paper Size setting in your application or printer settings. See the online help for details.
If the paper is wrinkled when it comes out, it may be damp or too thin. Load a new stack of paper.
Note:
Thick Paper is ejected when sending a thick paper print jobIf the thick paper is ejected when you send a thick paper print job to the printer, it means that the printer is not ready. When a message stating that the printer is ready appears on the screen, reload the thick paper, and then press the paper button.
Thick Paper does not eject properly after a thick paper job is finishedFollow the instructions below.
The CD/DVD tray is ejected or not fed correctly when sending a CD/DVD print jobReinsert the CD/DVD tray correctly.
See Positioning a CD/DVD If the tray is ejected when you start a CD/DVD print job, the printer is not ready. Wait until you see a message on your screen asking you to insert the tray. Then reinsert the tray and press the paper button.
