EPSON

Wi-Fi Direct

The printer has a Wi-Fi Direct function that allows you to create a wireless environment without an access point (Peer-to-Peer connection). Because the printer functions as an access point, other devices can become wireless terminals.
Note:
This feature is not available for all printers or the feature may not be enabled.
While a network is connected using Wi-Fi Direct, any other network connections are disconnected. As a result, Epson Connect and other functions to access the printer using the Internet are disabled too.
If a printer has the Wi-Fi Direct function, you can connect a Wi-Fi device to the printer without an access point.
The following two connection methods are available.

Simple AP mode

If your device does not have a Wi-Fi Direct function, the printer becomes the access point.
The connection specifications are as follows:
Number of concurrent connections: 4
Security: WPA2-PSK (AES)
Standard: 802.11g
Note:
The Simple AP mode does not provide a communication function between devices that are connected to the printer using this feature.

Wi-Fi Direct mode

If your device has a Wi-Fi Direct function, use this method.
Whether the printer or device is a group owner (access point) or client varies depending on the device.
The connection specifications are as follows:
Number of concurrent connections: 1
Security: WPA2-PSK (AES)
Standard: 802.11g
