Wi-Fi DirectThe printer has a Wi-Fi Direct function that allows you to create a wireless environment without an access point (Peer-to-Peer connection). Because the printer functions as an access point, other devices can become wireless terminals.
Note:
If a printer has the Wi-Fi Direct function, you can connect a Wi-Fi device to the printer without an access point.
The following two connection methods are available.
Simple AP modeIf your device does not have a Wi-Fi Direct function, the printer becomes the access point.
The connection specifications are as follows:
Number of concurrent connections: 4
Security: WPA2-PSK (AES)
Standard: 802.11g

Whether the printer or device is a group owner (access point) or client varies depending on the device.
