Uninstall the printer driver, then reinstall it.

For details on the printable area, click the Appendix tab in the upper right corner of the User’s Guide window. Then click Product Information and Technical Specifications. Make sure the printer driver settings are appropriate for the paper size you are using.
For Windows, check the Main window. For Mac OS X, check the Page Setup dialog box or Print dialog box. See the printer driver online help for details. Uninstall the printer driver, then reinstall it.

Make sure that the paper is loaded into the paper cassette correctly.

For Mac OS X, clear the Mirror Image check box in Print Settings in the Print dialog box of your printer driver, or turn off the Mirror Image setting in your application. For instructions, see the online help for your printer driver or for your application. Uninstall the printer driver, then reinstall it.
See Uninstalling Your Printer Software Paper or CD/DVD only prints halfway or is blankIf the scanner unit is open for a certain period of time, if data reception is interrupted for a certain period of time, or depending on your computer or the data, the printer may stop printing halfway and the paper or CD/DVD may be ejected. If the scanner unit is open, close it. The printer may resume printing, but if it does not, try printing again.
Make sure the printer driver settings are appropriate for the paper size you are using.
For Windows, check the Main window. For Mac OS X, check the Page Setup dialog box or Print dialog box. See the printer driver online help for details. For Windows, check the Skip Blank Page setting by clicking the Speed & Progress button on the Maintenance window of the printer driver.
For Mac OS X 10.5 or later, select On from the Skip Blank Page. To display the Skip Blank Page, click through the following menus: System Preferences, Print & Fax, your printer (in the Printers list box), Options & Supplies, and then Driver. For Mac OS X 10.4, check the Skip Blank Page setting in Extension Settings in the Print dialog box of your printer driver. If it is selected, blank pages in your data are not printed. Uninstall the printer driver, then reinstall it.

Clear the High Speed check box in the settings from your printer driver.
For Windows, check the Advanced window. For Mac OS X 10.5 or later, select Off from the High Speed Printing. To display the High Speed Printing, click through the following menus: System Preferences, Print & Fax, your printer (in the Printers list box), Options & Supplies, and then Driver. For Mac OS X 10.4, clear the High Speed Printing setting in Extension Settings in the Print dialog box of your printer driver. See the printer driver online help for details. For Windows, select Thick paper and envelopes from Printer and Option Information in your printer driver’s Maintenance window.
For Mac OS X 10.5 or later, select On from the Thick paper and envelopes. To display the Thick paper and envelopes, click through the following menus: System Preferences, Print & Fax, your printer (in the Printers list box), Options & Supplies, and then Driver. For Mac OS X 10.4, select the Thick paper and envelopes setting in Extension Settings in the Print dialog box of your printer driver. See the printer driver online help for details. Make several copies without placing a document on the document glass.

See Selecting the Correct Paper Type For Windows, clear all customized settings and select Text as the Quality Option from your printer driver’s Main window.
For Mac OS X, choose a lower Print Quality in the Print Settings dialog box from your printer driver’s Print dialog box. To display the High Speed Printing, click through the following menus: System Preferences, Print & Fax, your printer (in the Printers list box), Options & Supplies, and then Driver.
For Mac OS X 10.4, check the High Speed Printing setting in Extension Settings in the Print dialog box of your printer driver. Close any unnecessary applications.
If you print continuously for an extended period, the printing may be extremely slow. This is to slow down the printing speed and prevent the printer mechanism from overheating and being damaged. If this happens, you can continue to print, but we recommend stopping and leaving the printer idle for more than 30 minutes with the power on. (The printer does not recover with the power off.) After you restart, the printer will print at normal speed.
Uninstall the printer driver, then reinstall it.
