Miscellaneous Printout ProblemsIncorrect or garbled charactersClear any stalled print jobs from the Windows Spooler. (Windows)
See Canceling Printing Turn off the printer and computer. Make sure the printer’s interface cable is securely plugged in.
Uninstall the printer driver, then reinstall it.
See Uninstalling the Printer Software Incorrect marginsCheck the margin settings in your application. Make sure that the margins are within the printable area of the page. For details on the printable area, click the Appendix tab in the upper right corner of the User's Guide window, and then click Product Information, Technical Specifications.
Make sure the printer driver settings are appropriate for the paper size you are using.

(Fast Economy is only available when the paper type is plain papers.) Make sure that the paper is loaded into the sheet feeder correctly.

If it is selected, blank pages in your data are not printed. Uninstall the printer driver, then reinstall it.

Printed side is smeared or scuffedIf the paper is curled toward the printable side, flatten it or curl it slightly in the opposite direction.
Clear the High Speed check box in the settings from your printer driver.
For Windows, check the Advanced window. See the printer driver online help for details. Make several copies without placing a document on the document table.
