Starting a Scan With the EPSON Creativity Suite

When you scan with the EPSON Creativity Suite, you first scan and save the image file using EPSON File Manager. Then you use the other project options in the EPSON File Manager window to print, attach, or import your image files.

Do one of the following to start EPSON File Manager:

Windows: Double-click the EPSON File Manager icon on your desktop.

Or, select Start > Programs or All Programs > EPSON Creativity Suite > EPSON File Manager.

Mac OS X: Double-click the EPSON File Manager for X icon on your desktop.

Or, open the Applications > EPSON > Creativity Suite > File Manager folders and double-click the EPSON File Manager for X icon.

You see a window asking if you want to see program instructions.

If you want to view the program instructions, click Next and follow the on-screen instructions.

Note:

To turn off display of the program instruction window, click the Do Not Show Next Time checkbox.

You see the EPSON File Manager window:

Click the scanner icon in Load Photos in the upper left corner.

You see the Scan Assistant window:

Select your scanner from the Scanner List.

Specify the file folder in which you want to save your scanned image. Click Browse (Windows) or Choose (Macintosh) and select the folder.

Specify a file name prefix with an alphanumeric character string. A 3-digit number is automatically added to the file name, but you can change the Start Number if you like. If you are scanning multiple images at once, each image will receive a different 3-digit number.

Click the Scan and Save button. EPSON Scan starts in the currently selected mode.

Your image is scanned in JPEG format by default. To change the file format, click the Options button. This opens the EPSON Scan window where you can click the arrow next to the Scan button and change the file format. See Selecting File Save Settings for details.
