Why do I Get an error “Uninstaller failed to initialize...”

Instructions

1. Remove anyone of the listed programs from add/remove programs under the same administrative privilege as the original you installed the operating system.
a. Epson Twain 5
b. Scan to Web
c. PhotoPrint
d. Epson Copy utility
e. Epson Scanner reference Guide
f. Arcsoft PhotoImpression
g. Epson Smart Panel
Note: Smart Panel v2.0 supports an administrative privilege, Limited user or multiple user are not supported. If you cannot find all of them, please simple skip this step.

2. Search and remove the Epson and epfb5 folder from your hard disk.
3. Perform the download patch at the URL:
http://www.newsoftinc.com/download/patch/esp/American/DelReg.exe

You can find setup.exe in DelReg folder after extracting it.

4. Run the setup.exe so that it will automatically remove the related Smart Panel settings from system register.

5. Unplug the USB cable from the scanner in advance and clost all running programs. This includes virus protection, screen savers, and other software that may be running in the background. This is to avoid the possible conflicts with other software.

6. Reinstall the Smart Panel and Epson Twain5. On Windows 2000/XP, you need to install the Smart Panel as the same administrative privilege as the original you installed the operating system.

7. Add a patch to upgrade the Smart Panel->

Download it and follow the on-screen instructions to install the patch.
