What should I do if I get an error “ unable to access the scanner because it is not ready”?

Instructions

1. Uninstall Smart Panel -> Select Uninstall under Smart Panel folder to complete remove the software.

2. Close all the running applications. This includes virus protection, screen savers, and other softwares that may be running in the background. This is to avoid the possible conflicts with other softwares. Please refer to each application for closing down.

3. Delete the specified folder of Epson and Epfb5 from c:\program files\Epson and C:\windows_32\epfb5. Re-install Smart Panel.
a. Unplug the USB cable from Epson scanner.
b. Insert the Epson Smart Panel installation CD.
c. Follow the screen instructions and install all the applications.
d. Restart the computer.
e. Plug the USB cable of Epson scanner after your Windows restarted successfully.
f. Start using Epson Smart Panel.
