How do I print PostScript images on my EPSON Stylus printer?
To enable Post Script emulation for your EPSON Stylus Colour Printer you need to use EPSON Stylus RIP Software. The latest version of the ESPON Stylus RIP is compatible with the following printers: Stylus Colour 800 / 850 / 900 / 980 / 1520, Stylus Photo / EX / 1200 / 2000P / Stylus Colour 3000 / Stylus Pro 5000. The Stylus RIP Software CD-ROM is a Hybrid CD- ROM enabling compatibility on both Windows and Macintosh platforms.

The EPSON Stylus RIP Software will use PostScript Level 3 for Macintosh, Windows 2000 and NT. For Windows 95 and 98 it will use PostScript level 2. The EPSON Stylus RIP Software converts PostScript Files into Raster images and automatically prints them on your printer. You can use the EPSON Stylus RIP with both Macintosh and Windows systems, in standalone or networked configurations.

Adobe PostScript is the industry standard for high quality graphic output. All elements in a document including text, graphics, and other images are processed and reproduced using PostScript code. Then when you print from PostScript based drawing and publishing applications such as Quark XPress, Adobe Illustrator, Corel Draw and Macromedia Freehand; the RIP software creates a Raster image from the PostScript code and sends it to your printer.

Please note: For all other printing applications, in particular photography, please use the standard non-PostScript EPSON driver. In this case you will generally get better performance with the standard EPSON driver than with the EPSON Stylus RIP.
