Loading Envelopes

Follow these steps to load envelopes:
Note:
The illustrations in this section show the PX820FWD/TX820FWD/Artisan 835.
Open the front cover.
Note:
Close the output tray if it is extended.
Pull out the paper cassette.
Remove paper from the photo tray (upper tray) if any is loaded. Slide the photo tray forward and lift it up.
Pinch and slide the edge guides to the sides of the main tray (lower tray).
Load envelopes lengthwise with the flap facing up and to the left.
Slide the edge guides to the edges of the envelopes.
Lower the photo tray.
Slide the photo tray to check that the envelopes are not curling up the slope at the end of the cassette.
Keep the cassette flat as you insert it back into the printer.
Open and extend the output tray.
Note:
The thickness of envelopes and their ability to fold vary widely. If the total thickness of the stack of envelopes exceeds 10mm, press down on the envelopes to flatten them before loading. If print quality declines when a stack of envelopes is loaded, load one envelope at a time.
Do not use envelopes that are curled or folded.
Flatten the envelope flaps before loading.
Flatten the leading edge of the envelope before loading.
Avoid using envelopes that are too thin, as they may curl during printing.
Align the edges of the envelopes before loading.
