How to solve your network status or connection problems

  1. View the Network Connection Report that you printed out. Check items in A (Check Network Connection) for which the status shows FAIL.
  2. In the Check Items list, click the items that show a FAIL status to display the solutions.
  3. Check the message displayed in B and look for the same message listed under each Check Item. Then follow the solutions.

1. Ethernet Cable Connection Check

1 Confirm that the network cable is connected and network devices such as hub, router, or access point are turned on. Check the following:
  • The network cable is connected to network devices such as the printer or a hub
  • Network devices, such as a hub, are turned on
Check whether or not the network cable is connected and working correctly.
You can confirm the operating status of network devices by checking the status LED of the network port on connected devices such as a hub.

2. IP Address Check

2 Incorrect IP address is assigned to the printer. Confirm IP address setup of the network device (hub, router, or access point). Contact your network administrator for assistance. Check whether or not the DHCP function for the access point is enabled. If it is disabled, change it to enabled.

3. Detailed IP Setup Check

3 Confirm IP address, subnet mask, and default gateway setup.
Connection using the EpsonNet Setup is available.
Contact your network administrator for assistance.
  1. Check the following:
    • Other devices on the network are turned on
    • The network cable is connected correctly
    • The network address set manually for the printer is correct
    • The network address for the printer is the same as the one for other devices
  2. If the network address is incorrect, set the correct address using the printer's LCD panel.
    If you cannot change the settings using your printer, make settings using EpsonNet Setup.
    Your current IP address, subnet mask, and default gateway are displayed in C (Network Status).
4 Setup is incomplete. Confirm default gateway setup.
Connection using the EpsonNet Setup is available.
Contact your network administrator for assistance.
  1. Check the following:
    • The default gateway address set manually for the printer is correct
    • The device specified as a default gateway is turned on
    • The network cable is connected correctly
  2. If the default gateway address is incorrect, set the correct address using the printer's LCD panel.
    If you cannot change the settings using your printer, make settings using EpsonNet Setup.
    Your current default gateway address is displayed in C (Network Status) under Default Gateway.
5 Confirm the connection and network setup of the PC or other device.
Connection using the EpsonNet Setup is available.
Contact your network administrator for assistance.
  1. Check the following:
    • Other devices on the network are turned on
    • The network cable is connected correctly
    • The network address set manually for the printer is correct
    • The network address for the printer is the same as the one for other devices
  2. If you have checked all of the above points, try the following:
    • Start EpsonNet Setup on the PC that is using the same network as the printer. If your printer is listed in the printer list, set the IP address for the printer on the IP address setup screen.
Check the printer's IP address and check whether or not the network printer can access other devices on the network. In some cases, the error cannot be specified. We recommend performing network setup using EpsonNet Setup.
